New to
hypnosis?

You do not need to know the vocabulary before you belong here. Start with what hypnosis is, what a session may feel like, and how to approach your first experience without pressure to perform.

01
HYPNOSIS BASICS

What hypnosis is — and what it is not.

Hypnosis is an experience of focused attention, expectation, imagination, and responsiveness. People vary widely in what they notice and how strongly they respond. A quiet mind, vivid imagery, heaviness, lightness, time distortion, or simply feeling absorbed can all be normal experiences.

You do not have to “feel hypnotized” for a session to be worthwhile.

Response is not a contest.

Different people respond to different styles. Difficulty with one suggestion is not failure.

Hypnosis is collaborative.

A hypnotist can guide attention and suggestion, but a healthy session is not permission to ignore a person's boundaries.

02
FIRST SESSION

What to expect.

  1. 01
    Talk first.

Discuss what you want from the session, what is off-limits, whether anything will be recorded, and how either person can stop.

  2. 02
    Settle in.

An induction may use breathing, fixation, imagery, counting, relaxation, confusion, or another attention-focusing approach.

  3. 03
    Follow what works.

You can engage with suggestions without forcing a particular response.

  4. 04
    Come back fully.

A good session includes a clear ending or reorientation rather than simply abandoning the subject in an unfinished state.

  5. 05
    Debrief.

Talk about what worked, what did not, any unexpected reactions, and whether boundaries or preferences should change next time.

03
CONSENT + BOUNDARIES

Consent is ongoing, specific, and revocable.

Agreeing to hypnosis is not blanket permission for every suggestion, recording, touch, topic, or future session. Healthy hypnosis makes it easy to communicate limits before, during, and after the experience.

Before a session

  • Agree on the purpose and general style.
  • Discuss hard limits and areas that need extra care.
  • Agree on recording and who can access it.
  • Choose a clear way to pause or stop.
  • Clarify whether suggestions are intended to persist after the session.

During and after

  • A pause, no, stop, withdrawal, or visible distress should be taken seriously.
  • Do not use trance as an excuse to pressure someone past a stated limit.
  • Debrief unexpected reactions instead of dismissing them.
  • Consent to one session does not automatically carry into another.

04
CHOOSING SOMEONE

Look for behavior, not status.

Green flags

  • Comfortable discussing limits before technique.
  • Clear about experience without overstating credentials.
  • Does not shame beginners or different response styles.
  • Explains recording and privacy expectations.
  • Accepts a no without negotiation or punishment.
  • Has consistent verified-session feedback where available.

Concerning patterns

  • Claims consent does not matter once someone is “deep.”
  • Pressures secrecy or isolation from other community members.
  • Pushes adult content on someone who did not opt in.
  • Treats boundaries as a challenge to overcome.
  • Threatens reputation, exposure, or retaliation.
  • Misrepresents training, identity, or what will happen in a session.

FOR HYPNOTISTS

Skill includes how you handle another person's trust.

Technique matters, but so do preparation, pacing, observation, honesty, boundaries, and debriefing. Platform reputation intentionally measures communication and respect alongside session quality.

Start simpler.

A clear induction and well-framed suggestion can teach more than stacking advanced phenomena too quickly.

Watch the subject.

Adapt to the person's actual responses instead of forcing them into a script.

Debrief without ego.

A suggestion not working is information. Curiosity is more useful than blaming the subject.

ADULT HYPNOSIS

Part of the community. Deliberately opt-in.

18+ OPT-IN

Adult hypnosis stays separate until you choose it.

Adult content is hidden by default. Signed-in adults can explicitly enable it from profile settings after confirming they are 18 or older.
